INTRAORAL CAMERAS
Do you ever wish that you could see what Dr. Ryan is seeing as she peers inside your mouth? Intraoral cameras are an excellent educational aid that can do just that. Our team members will simply insert the camera-tipped wand into your mouth, capturing high-resolution images that are transmitted to a TV monitor in the operatory. While being able to view the extent of your dental damage on the big screen may feel overwhelming at first, it’s an important first step towards your new, revitalized smile.
DIGITAL X-RAYS
There is a lot of essential information hidden beneath the surface of your teeth and gums, which is why X-rays are crucial for your dentist’s diagnostic processes. Here in Jacksonville, Dr. Ryan exclusively relies on digital radiography because of its improved speed, accuracy, and patient comfort when compared with traditional film. There are no darkrooms to worry about, and we can view the results immediately after capture. This technology is much safer as well, as it greatly reduces radiation exposure.
CT/CONE BEAM SCANNER
Cone beam imaging is the most advanced and effective method today for viewing patients’ smiles and related facial structures in perfect detail. Our iCat scanner will create a three-dimensional image of your teeth, jaw, and skull, even pinpointing areas like sinuses and nerves for a comprehensive result. Dr. Ryan regularly relies on this diagnostic information in order to ensure maximum success for complex procedures, such as surgical implant placement or focused TMJ therapy.
DIGITAL IMPRESSION SYSTEM
Traditionally, dentists captured impressions for restorative work with physical molds. For patients, this process has always been uncomfortable and even sometimes gag-worthy. What’s worse is that it tends to be inaccurate as well, resulting in time-consuming retakes and lackluster restorations. At Parkway Prosthodontics, we are happy to offer all-digital impressions that require no contact with 3Shape technology. Instead, we simply complete a few scans of the mouth and create a digital image of your unique teeth for our in-house laboratory.
SOFT TISSUE LASER
Instead of traditional scalpels, Dr. Ryan has invested in a state-of-the-art BIOLASE soft tissue laser for periodontal therapy, aesthetic gum recontouring, and other likeminded services that involve the gum tissue. This modern technique offers several benefits over the original method, including reduced heat and vibration, exceptional precision, little to no post-operative symptoms like bleeding and swelling and added comfort throughout the procedure.
