Insurance and Prosthodontic Treatment: What You Need to Know

When it comes to receiving specialized care from a prosthodontist, one of the most common questions patients have is whether their dental insurance will cover the treatment. At Parkway Prosthodontics, we are committed to helping you understand your insurance benefits and ensuring that you can access the high-quality care you need for restoring your smile.

Does Insurance Cover Prosthodontic Treatment?

The good news is that many dental insurance plans do offer coverage for prosthodontic treatments, especially when they are deemed medically necessary. Treatments such as dental implants, crowns, bridges, and dentures often fall under the scope of restorative procedures, which are typically covered, at least in part, by most dental insurance plans. However, coverage can vary significantly based on the type of plan you have, the specifics of your policy, and the treatment you need.

Understanding Your Insurance Coverage

At Parkway Prosthodontics, we want to make the process of using your insurance as smooth as possible. Our team works with many major dental insurance providers, and we are happy to assist you with understanding your plan's coverage and benefits. Here’s how we help you navigate your insurance:

  • Insurance Verification: Before your treatment begins, our team will verify your dental insurance benefits to determine what is covered and what your out-of-pocket costs may be. We will also help you understand any co-pays, deductibles, or annual maximums that apply to your treatment.

  • Pre-Treatment Estimates: For complex or higher-cost treatments, such as dental implants or full-mouth restorations, we can submit a pre-authorization request to your insurance provider. This will allow us to provide you with an estimate of what your insurance will cover and what you may be responsible for paying.

  • Filing Claims: Our office will handle all the paperwork for submitting claims to your insurance company. We work hard to ensure that you receive the maximum benefits available under your plan.

Maximizing Your Insurance Benefits

To get the most out of your dental insurance, it’s important to schedule your prosthodontic treatment at the right time. Many insurance plans have annual maximums, meaning they will only cover a certain amount of treatment costs within a calendar year. By planning your treatment in advance, we can help you maximize your insurance benefits before they reset at the end of the year. Additionally, if your treatment plan involves multiple procedures, we can work with you to schedule them in a way that optimizes your insurance coverage.

Flexible Financing Options for Out-of-Pocket Costs

At Parkway Prosthodontics, we understand that paying for the full cost of an extensive rehabilitative procedure all at once may not be feasible for many patients. To make your dental care more affordable and stress-free, we offer a variety of flexible payment options to help you manage any out-of-pocket costs, even if your insurance doesn’t cover the entire treatment.

Our practice is proud to accept third-party financing plans through Alphaeon, CareCredit, LendingClub, and Compass Bank. These plans allow you to spread the cost of your treatment over several months or even years, depending on your preference. Many of these options come with little to no interest, making it easier to budget for your dental care. By breaking down the total cost into small, manageable payments, you can achieve the smile you’ve always wanted without the worry of large upfront expenses.

We believe that everyone deserves access to quality care, and our financing options are designed to provide flexibility so that you can focus on your treatment and well-being. If you're interested in learning more about our financing plans or would like help navigating your options, our friendly team is here to assist you every step of the way.
